Hi! I’m Yanina: Yana for short
How did I end up becoming a stylist after getting a degree in marketing and working in logistics and insurance? It has been quite a journey!
A fascination with style
I’ve always loved fashion, clothes and shopping and often wondered why some people look great in simple jeans and T-shirt combos while others don’t.
After moving to Gothenburg in Sweden from the bigger St Petersburg, I soon realized I would have to change my style. Why was this so for me and other expats? I became absorbed in finding the answers. What is style? How can you make the best impression and still be yourself?
My interest in psychology and sociology led me to look deeper: how and why do people make decisions? What factors influence them? I discovered that people instinctively react to your appearance, and even if we think we are impartial, our “reptile brain” reacts to the way things and people look. Whether we like it or not, we DO judge a book by its cover. Are you perceived as positively as you deserve to be?
In my quest to discover the how, why, and what of style, I realized something life-changing: instead of taking the “safe” route of a job in logistics or marketing, I wanted to start my very own business. I would help people who have been curious about the same questions as I have, and they’d find the solutions quickly without having to explore all the dead-ends and red herrings.
Don’t worry! I’ve discovered that it’s all a matter of knowing what does and doesn’t work for you.
How my style system evolved
To become a stylist / image maker, I completed several style certificate courses, including the British “Colour me Beautiful” system, but none of them seemed to have all the answers I was looking for, so I took the best of everything I’d learned, and combined it into a unique system that makes absolute sense, and which has worked wonders for all my clients to date.
As you will have noticed, I am intrigued by human sciences, so my system is based on the laws of visual perception, psychology, sociology and on the history of fashion. In the process of developing it, I’ve learned so much. Why should I keep it all to myself? We ladies have to stand together!
My philosophy
I’m not going to tell you to be anything other than yourself, or to wear anything you don’t feel reflects your personality. I may be a professional stylist, but I understand just how individual style is.
Instead of just telling you how to look great now, my system helps you to evolve your style throughout your life. Call it a “style toolbox”. As your circumstances change, you will be able to adapt your style to suit who you are, how you look and what you do.
Style is a skill like any other. It can be learned through practice, but a good teacher will speed your process. Do you remember learning how to drive a car? How about the first time you cooked a meal? Advice from those who know how to do it helped a lot, didn’t it?
Of course, if you could afford it, you could just have hired a chauffeur or a chef to do it all for you. You can also hire a stylist – or you can learn to become your own stylist. The choice is yours.
How I work
I LOVE working with people. I’m not here to judge your existing style, your body, or your looks. Instead, I’m here to help you make the best of the beautiful person you really are. Don’t you feel beautiful? Let’s see what we can do about that together!
I want my clients to be able to step out with confidence. Whether you’re attending a ball or going on a picnic, feeling great about the way you look allows you to focus on enjoying yourself!
In your professional life, that confidence in your appearance and the knack of knowing just what to wear and when to wear it helps you to reflect the image employers want. Now, your skills and dedication get the recognition they deserve.
Discover a gorgeous new you
The most rewarding thing about my role as a stylist is helping women to explore their potential. When you look great, you feel good, and your natural talents are allowed to bloom. Many of my clients have come back to me to tell me that discovering their personal style has changed their lives for the better. It’s humbling, but it’s satisfying too.
Join me on a special journey. You’ll discover exactly how to make the most of your natural assets through your personal image and style. Let’s work together! I can’t wait to meet you.
