You can calculate the value of this using the following ways:
- Make a simple test, open your closet and sum up the money you spent on clothes that you do not actually wear. How much did you spend? ;) Say $100 per year (often the figure is much higher).
Now multiply the number of years you plan to buy clothes in the future - 30-50 years. 100$ * 30 = 3000$! This is at least what you will save if you learn how to shop wisely.
- Another way to calculate if it is worth getting help with your wardrobe is:
Stylists use a formula to calculate the real cost of a garment - take the amount you paid for the garment and divide it by the number of times you have used it.
For example, you bought a pair of jeans that cost 100 dollars and have worn them about three times a week per year. Which is 3x52 = 156 times per year.
100$/156 = 0,64$ each time you wore the jeans.
Then you bought a dress for 100$ and wore it 3 times. The real cost of the dress would be 100$/3 = 33$ each time.
The dress is much more expensive in this case!
Similarly, we can calculate the value of services:
We get dressed every day, which means you will use the information given to you, every day for the rest of your life.
The average cost of styling services is about 300$ divided by 365 days per year = 0,82$ per day.
But if we divide the amount you spend on these services by the number of years you will use this knowledge, for example 30 years .. then it will be about 0,03$ per day.
Do not forget how much you will save on unnecessary purchases!
It sounds like a good investment, doesn’t it? ;)
Similarly, you can calculate the true value of all the goods you have bought and services you have used in other areas of your life!
